How to input a polynomial
Variables
For the polynomial calculator the default variable is
'x';
example:3x^4+5x^2-x+14
Arithmetic operations
Power: '^';
example: x
4 = x
^4
Multiplication;
example: 3x
4 = 3x^4 . 3x
4 can also be written 3
*x^4
Addition: '+';
example: 3x
4 + 2x
3 = 3x^4
+ 2x^3
Subtraction: '-';
example: 3x
4 + 2x
3 - x = 3x^4 + 2x^3
- x
Restrictions
The coefficients of the terms must be real numbers , NOT
expressions like: 2/3x^2 (you should input 0.666x^2) or (2*3)x^2 (you should input 6x*2) or (2-3)x^2 ( you should input -x^2 )
or (3-2)x^2 (you should input x^2).
The powers of the variable must be positive integers ,
like x^4, x^2, x^67.
Do NOT use negative numbers, expressions or floating point numbers here.
Do not use paranthesis of any kind.
Do not use mathematical expressions of any kind (sin, cos, 2/3, (3-2), (2-3), 2*3, e^3, ln, log, tan, cot,
arcsine, arccos , etc.).
Use only numbers .
Examples
x3+3x2+x-5 must be input
x^3+3x^2+x-5
2x5+54x2+(3/10)x-5.2 must be input
2x^5+54x^2+0.3x-5.2
